Celebrating Projects Old and New

The latest news on ARDF’s Development Projects
November 2022

In the past 6 months (since the last project update on May 1, 2021), ARDF has sent ARDF has sent more than $375,000 to projects in:

Cambodia, DRC, Guatemala, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda

New Projects

One of our projects, the Timothy House in Thailand, offers safe housing under the care of Christian house parents, so village children can attend school in town.

In September, our Global Council met in Ridgecrest, NC to approve new development projects, celebrate completed projects, and share visions and prayer requests for the regions under their care. They approved more than $1M in funding in seven different countries. Earlier in the year, our Global Council approved an ambitious project in which will support healthcare facilities in Ghana and Uganda for three years. Together, these projects add up to more than $1.4M, which is the largest amount we have ever approved! All these projects will increase access to education, healthcare, housing, and worship opportunities in Burundi, Cambodia, Egypt, Ghana, Madagascar, Nepal, Thailand, and Uganda. We are excited to come alongside our partners as they share the love of Christ in tangible ways all around the world!

Celebrating Completed Projects

In 2019, ARDF partnered with the Anglican Church in Kenya through a joint grant and loan to establish a bakery which will generate income for future projects in Kenya. We are excited to announce that the bakery is already producing 7,000 loaves per day! New jobs have been created, and the bakery is serving farmers, school children, and other community members through its production of nutritious bread.

"This is a model that is going to help the communities and also help the church to continue in its mission."  - John Mutua, Executive Director of ADS-Eastern (project implementer)

Our partners in Recife, Brazil are doing amazing things in their community at House of Hope! ARDF gave them a grant in 2019 to expand their facility, allowing them to serve even more people through their day care, after school programs, and motherhood programs.

“The daycare was and still is my second home. It’s a place that I always feel embraced, from my first year of life until now. From nursery to school reinforcement, there is a lot of love involved.”
- Vinícius, 18, Recife

Update from an Earlier Project: Nepal

In Nepal, our partners at Joy Land Kindergarten were able to secure land for their school that already had a suitable building on it! The church learned that the previous owner's son envisioned a school for the neighborhood, but died before his dream could be realized. When the owner learned that the church was going to use the building as a school, he was visibly moved. Read our blog post with the full story!

ARDF hires a new Director of International Projects: Vanessa Hines

ARDF is excited to welcome Vanessa Hines to the team as our Director of International Projects. Vanessa has worked in international development in Africa and the Middle East, and with a background in business, she likes to explore how entrepreneurship can support families and strengthen communities. One of her favorite things to do is listen to people’s stories.
