The Current Situation

Within two days of the floods, The NALC responded to the needs of survivors in Chavies, KY, by delivering 18 pallets of cleaning and hygiene supplies, along with hand-made blankets, Bibles, and school supplies. Often volunteers have to deliver into the rural communities as roads and bridges remain washed out. Additionally, many victims lost cars and trucks in the floods and are now isolated without means of transportation. Some supplies are being air-lifted to survivors. Electricity has been restored in some areas, where fans and small air conditioners are being deployed because of the heat.
