Praise that the diocese of Marsabit has generally remained healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Prayers for continued health and protection.

Prayers for a successful and safe reopening of Tumaini Academy in January 2021.  Prayers for students who will be repeating their previous school year due to the school closure.

Praise for good progress on the construction of St. Andrew’s High School. Prayers for needed financial support to continue construction. The annual fall KCEP fundraising event has been cancelled due to health and safety concerns.

Praise for a period of calm in tribal tensions after 12 deaths reported several weeks ago. Prayers for peace among tribes and unity among clergy.

Prayers for the dedicated teachers and staff at Tumaini who will be without their full salaries due to the school’s closure and subsequent reduced income during the pandemic. Prayers for new teacher sponsors to help retain this great pool of talent.

Meet a Tumaini Teacher:

My name is Harriet Wanjiku Maina. My journey of faith was formed [by] my parents and going to Sunday school. I grew up in Sunday school going to youth conferences and those seminars, that is how I grew my faith. Last year I taught the preschool class. I’d like my students to grow up to be good children and [in class] I like to make fun with them because they are so small [and I want them to enjoy learning].
