My Medic Charities provided pre-hospital first aid gear to first responders and provided training to those involved in the first aid response in the quake zone in Eastern Turkey in the initial week after the first earthquakes.
A Turkish NGO, formed after the 1999 Turkish earthquake, has mobilized a strategic response to this current disaster in the name of Christ. They have expanded their efforts quickly with relief supplies into the quake zone in Eastern Turkey including search and rescue trucks, mobile hygiene units and even a mobile oven. They are growing their volunteer base and equipment and supplies to meet the ongoing needs.
The Presbyterian church has had an ongoing presence in cities in the region throughout years of turmoil. Despite damage to their own facilities, they are providing relief supplies including food, medicine, diapers and shelter to survivors in their communities. They are also exploring how to find shelter for the many without housing.
The Orthodox Church has had a faithful presence in Turkey since the time of the Apostles. They are now providing relief to families in need in the city of Antakya, historical Antioch, including shelter, clothing and other necessities.
Water Mission is working in several locations in Turkey to provide clean water stations to medical clinics and temporary residential areas. The need for clean water is immense, and many of the clean water stations located near temporary shelters will likely be in use for some time.
Numerous small local churches are responding to the needs in their communities. ARDF is connecting to these smaller communities to support their efforts to love and care for the massive needs of food, shelter around them.

Please join us in praying for those who have lost family and friends, who are now homeless, and for those continuing to minister to Turkey and Syria after this natural disaster.
Almighty God, by your Word you laid the foundations of the earth, set the bounds of the sea, and still the wind and waves. Surround those in Turkey and Syria with your grace and peace, and preserve those through the aftermath of the earthquakes. By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, strengthen those who work to rescue or rebuild, and fill us with the hope of your new creation;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
