ANTICIPATED LIVES IMPACTED: TBD
PARTNERS: Water Mission (in the Bahamas).
HOW CAN YOU CONTRIBUTE?
Currently we are raising funds to provide clean water to victims in the Bahamas, through our partner, Water Mission. Funds will go to their work as they install systems to provide clean water. Until we know the impact of the storm in the Carolinas, donating to ARDF's general relief fund is the most helpful. ARDF keeps these funds in reserve until needed. This reserve allows us to immediately serve churches once the need becomes clear. Your donation** goes to pay for supplies for churches to distribute as well as those the volunteer relief teams need in order to help with the rebuilding efforts.
CALL TO ACTION September 2019
Help Spread the Word!
Hurricane Dorian battered the Bahamas bringing unbelievable damage and leaving 70,000 homeless. ARDF is already partnering with Water Mission in the Bahamas.
In the Bahamas, ARDF is partnering with Water Mission. They are sending three shipments to the affected areas. These will primarily be Reverse Osmosis systems that can treat saltwater as well as P&G water purification packets for distribution to individuals. The first one arrived in Nassau and is capable of purifying 30,000 gallons per day straight from the ocean.
Water Mission has six staff on the ground and are responding with these systems to meet the needs in Green Turtle Cay, Marsh Harbour, and Elbow Cay.
Watch this video from the ground, posted by Water Mission.
Reports from the ground are that in this area, 90% of homes are destroyed, 10% are severely damaged. Communications have been difficult, but the impending arrival of Satellite phones will enable us to share news with you.
ARDF has a long and productive history with Water Mission, supporting their efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria in 2017.
With your help, we will respond quickly!
Thank you to all of our generous donors who have given - and continue to give - to the local church through ARDF.
