Out on Mission with a Vision
“All of Us had seen God at work”
Nepal and Ghana
This week, ARDF has sent out two Vision Trip teams to see how God is using the Global Church to further his Kingdom.
Rev. Bill Haley, ARDF-US Trustee and Executive Director of Coracle, is with a team of North Americans visiting various churches and ministries in Nepal. Karla Petty, member of the team, writes that even after the first day, “all of us had seen God at work, and been touched in a significant way by what we had seen and learned, and the people we had interacted with.”
The team also visited the Daneseri slum. Karla continues, “Many people from the more remote corners of Nepal leave their families and come to Kathmandu to try and find work. When they do this, they have no status, no footholds, and often are unable to find places to live, or people will refuse to rent to them, so they end up in a place like Danaseri.” The team handed out blankets and backpacks and had a chance to visit the buildings rebuilt with the help of ARDF donors.
ARDF and Coracle are partnering with the Diocese of Singapore, which oversees the Anglican Church of Nepal.
Meanwhile, ARDF Executive Director Bill Deiss is with a team visiting projects and partners in Ghana. They have offered words of hope and prayer at a prison, pondered the heaviness of the historic slave castles along the coast, and visited several schools in remote areas of the country.
Kevin Patterson, a member of the team, writes, “We were blessed with joyful enthusiasm of the children which is a great gift to receive through this journey.”
ARDF is partnering with All Saints, Matthews, NC. All Saints has a deep, long-standing relationship with ministries in Ghana and the team is being welcomed like family, not guests.
ARDF periodically offers Vision Trips for anyone who wants to experience the Global Church in Action. Trips in 2019 include visits to Brazil and Rwanda and specific details will be available soon.
