Vocational Training Project
Diocese of Bukaru — Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa. Rich in natural resources, Nigeria struggles to leverage vast wealth with crushing poverty. More than 76 percent of people in Bukuru live in poverty and have few chances for economic advancement. The Anglican Diocese of Bukuru will finish constructing an Arts and Vocational Skills Center, where disenfranchised youth, widows, orphans, street children and other marginalized groups can receive skills training in tailoring, knitting, music, carpentry, literacy and math skills and formal education. Over 600 individuals will receive training through the project with an estimated 400 finding employment within a year after graduation.
