Emergency Relief Request: Columbus New Mexico – Microburst

Donate to The Relief Effort Now

Bishop Win Mott of the ACNA Diocese of the Southwest is making an urgent appeal for emergency relief assistance on behalf of families affected by a destructive microburst that hit Columbus, New Mexico on July 23rd.

The storm, described as a column of rapidly descending air that caused tornado-force winds at ground level, struck the small border town in southwest New Mexico at around 10PM, tearing off roofs and smashing homes.

Many of these severely damaged houses have been condemned by local authorities, leaving the low-income families who owned them living in unsafe conditions or homeless. Faced by the fearful prospect of losing the homes they have worked hard to buy or build, many residents are experiencing frustration, anger and exhaustion.

ARDF is partnering with the Diocese of the Southwest and St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Deming, New Mexico to actively demonstrate the love of God by helping to repair and rebuild the homes of families suffering because of this disaster.

Please consider joining this partnership by donating to the relief effort.

“I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness.”
